UD Trucks Bahrain importer Al Moayyed recently held a highly successful three-day driving training event in Bahrain. The event aimed to enhance the driving skills of fleet operators and drivers, as well as to educate them about the latest technologies and features of UD Trucks' range of vehicles.

Total of 41 drivers from 17 different companies attended to the training sessions, improving their overall knowledge. The event featured a total of six sessions, with each session consisting of eight drivers. Each session was further divided into three sub-sessions, namely a classroom session, close quarter maneuvering, and an on-road session.

Training Sessions Truck Walkaround

During the classroom sessions, participants refreshed key features of UD Trucks' vehicles, with regards to safety technologies, fuel efficiency, and driver comfort. The session also featured the importance of safe driving practices and how to operate commercial vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.

The close quarter maneuvering sessions were held in a controlled environment, allowing drivers to experience various driving scenarios and experience how to respond to them safely. These sessions consisted of a range of challenges that put the participants' driving skills, such as reversing through tight spaces, driving through narrow alleys, and maneuvering around obstacles to the test.

Driver Training Sessions on Truck

For the on-road sessions, participants were given the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge in real-world driving situations and took to the public roads. This module focused on safe driving practices and defensive driving techniques, as well as the importance of maintaining the condition of the vehicle.

The event was highly successful, with participants expressing their satisfaction with the quality of training and the practical skills they acquired. The three-day format allowed for a comprehensive learning experience that covered a wide range of topics and gave participants ample time to practice and apply their newly acquired skills.

Senior sales manager of Al Moayyed, Jayadev Menon commented: “The drivers were imparted theoretical classroom training & practical driving training in close quarter maneuvering, precision parking, spotting and on road driving with fully loaded trucks to simulate actual conditions on the Special Driving Circuit set up on an area of 20000 sq. m for the training. The training session was well received, and the participants appreciated the Inputs received on economical & safe driving techniques to improve the fuel efficiency, truck component life & on-road safety.
